Last year’s THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT was a surprise hit, grossing more than $50 million domestically. So it shouldn’t be a shock to learn that Gold Circle has announced a follow-up, A HAUNTING IN GEORGIA, to be helmed by the first film’s editor, Tom Elkins.
Heat Vision reports that Elkins—who edited WHITE NOISE 2, THE NEW DAUGHTER and the upcoming THE APPARITION—will be stepping into the director’s chair for the first time with A HAUNTING IN GEORGIA, replacing originally announced helmer Ti West (HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, THE ROOST, CABIN FEVER 2). The film, set to roll in August and written by David Coggeshall, centers on the true story of a family threatened by mysterious entities inhabiting their property in the rural South. Gold Circle’s Paul Brooks will produce, with Scott Niemeyer and Norm Waitt executive producing. Brad Kessell will oversee for Gold Circle and co-produce.
