Bela’s back, baby! Monsterverse is publishing BELA LUGOSI’S TALES FROM THE GRAVE, a full-color comics anthology in the classic EC and Warren tradition that presents weird and fantastic tales. In a special arrangement with Bela G. Lugosi, Bela’s son, the DRACULA actor will act as host and commentator for each terror tale.

Shock Til You Drop posted the cover for the first issue, which was done by legendary artist Basil Gogos. John Cassaday did an alternate cover as well. BELA LUGOSI'S TALES FROM THE GRAVE is spearheaded by Kerry Gammill and Kez Wilson, who are publishing the series and will be providing art for many of the stories. Gammill, Wilson and screenwriter Sam F. Park will be the editing the series as well as writing stories for the book.

The roster of artists and writers includes two major names among comic book fans: 30 DAYS OF NIGHT’s Steve Niles will be crafting a new story, and Cassaday will be writing and drawing a tale as well as providing that alternate cover. Other writers, artists and filmmakers that readers can expect to see in future issues of the series include AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON’s John Landis, THE WOLFMAN’s Rick Baker, THE STAND’s Mick Garris, Bruce Timm, Stiles White, BUBBA HO-TEP’s Joe R. Lansdale and more. Visit the Monsterverse site for more info.
