Guillermo del Toro's fairy tale fascination is apparently rearing its head again.
Speaking to Shock Til You Drop, producer Denise Di Novi revealed that she's aiming to develop a new BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, with del Toro working alongside her and plans for HARRY POTTER's Emma Watson to star. Currently, it's unclear in what capacity the PAN'S LABYRINTH director is involved (most likely producer) as we all know just how full his slate is. It's surely odd he'd want to take on BEAUTY, as the recent BEASTLY was such a fascinating update on the story.
Del Toro is also currently working with DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK co-scripter Matthew Robbins and Nick Cave on an animated, and most likely terribly eerie, retelling of PINOCCHIO.
