As we all continue to speculate as to the nature of Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS and its relationship to ALIEN, a new cast addition and official synopsis (that won't give you much) have been revealed. 

JoBlo reports that Ben Foster, who previously ventured into sci-fi with PANDORUM, has joined Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba and Noomi Rapace in the film. 

Also published was the official description of the film: "Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery."

While it's always fun to guess, this synopsis is kind of satisfying as I'd really like to know as little as possible and be blown away by what Scott has planned
