His NIGHT OF THE DEMONS was remade in 2009 by Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch, so what’s the next Tenney flick getting the reboot treatment? You’ll have to wait until after the break to find out, but the original starred Tawny Kitaen (pictured) and Stephen Nichols a.k.a “Patch” from DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

Dread Central spoke with writer/director Mark Vadik about his upcoming serial killer film CYRUS: MIND OF A SERIAL KILLER, and during that chat the filmmaker spoke about his next project: a redux of Tenney’s 1986 movie WITCHBOARD.

“I just finished the script on the WITCHBOARD remake,” Vadik says. “I am a huge fan of the original film, especially with Tawny Kitaen in it, so I was really excited to come aboard the project. And it looks like it’s most likely going to be the next movie I will be directing.

“My own litmus test was to see if I thought I could bring something new to the story for a new generation of fans, and after reading the script, I think there will definitely be something for new audiences and fans of the original. Our story arc and characters are all akin to the original, but we are definitely not planning a straight shot-for-shot remake either. I wasn’t interested in redoing an already great movie so we do have a few surprises in this new one planned.”
