As Flannery O’Connor once wrote, a Goode man is hard to find. South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook (OLDBOY, THIRST) must know that, because he’s looking to cast WATCHMEN actor Matthew Goode in his first English-language movie, STOKER.

Variety reports that Goode is in talks for the male lead in Fox Searchlight’s STOKER, which already has ALICE IN WONDERLAND’s Mia Wasikowska and THE OTHERS’ Nicole Kidman lined up to star. The story centers on a teenage girl who, while mourning her father’s death, must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle. Tony and Ridley Scott are producing STOKER through their Scott Free banner along with Michael Costigan. BLOOD CREEK and RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE actor Wentworth Miller penned the script under the pseudonym Ted Foulke.
