Yesterday, actor Bill Moseley gave us the scoop on his
latest serial killer movie THE INFLICTION (see item here).
Today, we check in with the Texas-lensing film’s writer/producer/director
Matthan Harris, who also plays the movie’s lead maniac. The 24-year-old
multi-hyphenate also buried us in a new slew of pics!
FANGORIA: What is the film about?
MATTHAN HARRIS: THE INFLICTION is about a troubled med school student named David O’Hara who kidnaps, rapes and murders women. He impregnates one of his victims, Melissa Daniels, in an attempt to replace the family that he lost as a young boy. However, the police rescue Melissa from David’s warehouse, and David goes on a murderous rampage to get his family back.

FANG: Who does Bill Moseley play in the film?
HARRIS: Bill Moseley plays Mr. O’Hara, David’s father. Mr. O’Hara drowned David’s 2-year-old sister, Ashley, and David witnessed it as a 6-year-old boy...this is one of the reasons David grew up to be a sociopath. Mr. O’Hara is quite a dark soul as well, living with regret and sadness every day of his life. He knows that he’s partially to blame for David’s wrongdoings, yet he loves his son and will protect him at all costs.

FANG: Tell me about the other amazing cast members and the roles they play?
HARRIS: Aside from Bill’s haunting performance as Mr. O’Hara, antagonist David O’Hara is played by yours truly. The wonderful Sid Haig plays Dr. Gardner, a warm-hearted psychiatrist who helps Melissa Daniels [Lindsay Hightower]. Melissa is a very damaged yet strong character who was raped, impregnated and chained up in David’s warehouse. Lieutenant Lorenzo of the Dallas police, played by Italian legend Giovanni Lombardo Radice, rescues Melissa and becomes very protective of her. Lieutenant Lorenzo is a very commanding man and is intent on stopping David O’Hara from committing further abuse and bloodshed. Doug Bradley makes an exciting appearance as FBI Agent Wilson. I don’t want to spoil anything, but there is a pretty intense scene with Agent Wilson... You’ll just have to wait and see!

FANG: How did the shoot in Dallas go?
HARRIS: The latest shoot in Dallas went extremely well. It was the second act of the film, and it was such an honor to work with actors I grew up admiring. I remember watching HELLRAISER and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 on VHS as a kid, so it was pretty surreal to both direct and act in scenes with Bill and Doug, which is the first time they’ve worked together—horror history! I am absolutely pumped to do the third and final act later this year. Giovanni will be returning from the first act as Lorenzo, and he’s such a blessing to work with. THE INFLICTION should be ready for release by February 2012.
Stay tuned for more on THE INFLICTION as production continues and see the film’s Facebook page here.
