After nabbing a sales agent just a couple of weeks ago, the buzzed about (on both sides of the spectrum) sci-fi/horror BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW has been picked up for U.S. distribution.
Screen Daily is reporting that Magnet Releasing. the more genre-oriented arm of Magnolia Pictures has won the U.S. rights to the film written and directed by Panos Cosmatos (son of RAMBO, LEVIATHAN and OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN director George Pan Cosmatos). RAINBOW is set in a strange clinic where a sinister doctor performs experiments on a captive young woman, with human mutants, psychic powers and bloody slayings also worked into the mix. Mongrel Media has acquired the Canadian distribution.
