Nico Tortorella—who plays Emma Roberts’ ex-boyfriend in SCREAM 4—is in talks to be the villain in Stephen Sommers’ adaptation of the Dean Koontz book series ODD THOMAS.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news on ODD THOMAS, which is being produced by Fusion Films’ John Baldecchi & Howard Kaplan and Sommers, who wrote the screenplay and is directing.

The story follows a short-order cook named Odd Thomas (Anton Yelchin) who communicates with the dead, a secret only his girlfriend (Addison Timlin) and the local police chief (Willem Dafoe) know. Odd Thomas can also see malevolent forces called bodachs, who feed on pain and augur imminent death. When Odd Thomas sees them around a stranger, he must race against time to prevent a catastrophe.

Tortorella would play an officer working under Dafoe who is actually a member of a Satanic cult that wants to destroy the town.  ODD THOMAS is due to shoot in New Mexico later this spring and summer.
