Over the weekend, the winners of the 2009 Bram Stoker Awards were revealed at the Horror Writers Association’s Stoker banquet, held as part of the World Horror Convention in Brighton, UK. Eight honorees were named in various categories of fright literature, and you can see the complete list after the jump.

The Stoker trophy, a bronze replica of a haunted house, was designed by author Harlan Ellison and sculptor Steven Kirk. Also given out at the ceremony were Lifetime Achievement Awards to Brian Lumley and William F. Nolan, Specialty Press Awards to Ray Russell and Rosalie Parker of Tartarus Press, the Silver Hammer Award for outstanding service to the HWA to Kathryn Ptacek and the President’s Richard Laymon Service Award to Vince A. Liaguno. “This was the first time we’ve presented the Stoker Awards outside of the North American continent,” says co-organizer Lisa Morton, and I hope it serves to continue to expand HWA’s presence and membership outside of the U.S. and Canada.
