Stephen King’s 2005 Hard Case Crime novel THE COLORADO KID is the inspiration for the new Syfy series HAVEN. It was previously announced that JERICHO’s Emily Rose would be playing FBI Agent Audrey Parker, and now the actress has two new castmates.
Shock Til You Drop reports that Eric Balfour (the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake and lotsa Syfy creature features) and Canadian actor Lucas Bryant are on board the project. King's mystery story takes place in Haven, a tiny island off the coast of Maine, and centers on the investigation of a dead man found without any identification. Airing this summer, the series, unlike King's novel, will have a strong supernatural bent. Bryant will play Nathan Wuornos, the calm and easygoing local cop who becomes the feisty Audrey's partner. Balfour is Duke Crocker, a mysterious free spirit who may be concealing a dark side. Shooting is taking place in Halifax, Nova Scotia this spring. Stay tuned for more.
