Remember SPLATTERHOUSE? The 1988 arcade game favorite is getting a next-generation adaptation, and Namco Bandai has some new screen shots of the devastating weapons that Rick uses to bludgeon and bloody his enemies. Check them out below!

SPLATTERHOUSE follows college student Rick Taylor as he tries to rescue his girlfriend, Jennifer, who has disappeared after going into a mysterious mansion inhabited by the scientist Dr. West and his horde of horrific abominations. Coming across a mystical sentient mask that promises to give him the power to reunite with Jennifer, Rick dons the “Terror Mask” and is transformed into a raging juggernaut who goes on a path of violence and destruction.

Designated into categories such as bludgeon, edged and “extra brutal” weapons, Rick’s arsenal allows him to literally explode bodies into visceral chunks. Rick can annihilate, dismember and destroy his enemies with multiple weapons, including a 2x4, baseball bat, cleaver, shotgun and, of course, a chainsaw.

SPLATTERHOUSE will be available later this year for the Xbox 360® and PLAYSTATION®3 systems.
