Fango got the scoop on details of the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray releases of THE HORSEMAN, the brutal Australian revenge thriller that has been knocking out audiences and winning awards at festivals since early last year. We also got a first look at the cover art.

Screen Media Films is releasing the movie on both disc formats; contrary to reports elsewhere, THE HORSEMAN unfortunately won’t be receiving theatrical play, and despite what’s currently listed on the company site, the street date is June 15. The discs will present the movie in anamorphic 1.78:1 with 5.1 Surround sound, and the extras are:

• Audio commentary by writer/director Steven Kastrissios and the cast

• Short film with commentary

• Deleted scenes with Kastrissios commentary (Blu-ray only)

More bonus features will likely be present on the Blu-ray as well. THE HORSEMAN (not to be confused with last year’s Dennis Quaid-starrer HORSEMEN) stars Peter Marshall as Christian, a pest-control man who sets out on a road trip of bloody vengeance to exterminate the sleazebags responsible for his teenaged daughter’s death.
