The long-mooted SCREAM 4 has now been officially greenlighted, and the stars who made it through all three of the previous features will be back. Dimension Films has also settled on a release date for the latest in Wes Craven’s slasher saga.

Variety reports that SCREAM 4 will open April 12, 2011. Neve Campbell (pictured), David Arquette and Courteney Cox Arquette are all reprising their roles, joined by a new cast of young supporting victims—er, actors, and franchise creator Kevin Williamson once again scripted. “SCREAM has been such an integral part of Dimension’s history, and I look forward to continuing the franchise,” company topper Bob Weinstein tells the trade. Craven (whose previous feature MY SOUL TO TAKE still hasn’t been given a confirmed opening slot by Rogue Pictures) begins filming SCREAM 4 this spring.
