Fans of horror novelists John Skipp and Craig Spector have been waiting a couple of years now to hear when they’ll be able to see ANIMALS, the film adaptation of the duo’s novel. Now, word has finally come down that it’ll go straight to DVD this summer.
Maverick Entertainment sent Fango the news that ANIMALS will street June 15 on the Platinum label, with a 16x9-enhanced widescreen transfer, 5.1 Surround sound and no special features; retail price is $24.98. Directed by Arnold Cassius (a pseudonym for Douglas Aarniokoski) from a script by Spector, the movie stars BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER’s Marc Blucas, LOST’s Naveen Andrews, Nicki Aycox from JEEPERS CREEPERS 2 and SUPERNATURAL, Eva Amurri and Andy Comeau in the story of a guy whose life takes a frightening turn when he’s seduced by a sexy, bar-crawling werewolf, earning the wrath of her lycanthropic partner. See the trailer below, and look for coverage of ANIMALS in Fango #294, on sale in May.
