Dread Central got the scoop that horror hero Tom Atkins will reunite with MY BLOODY VALENTINE director Patrick Lussier on DRIVE ANGRY, the 3-D horror road movie that we last reported on here.
It hasn’t been revealed what part Atkins will play in the film, but just the fact that the star of THE FOG, NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, HALLOWEEN III, MANIAC COP, et al. has a new genre role sounds good to us. DRIVE ANGRY, scripted by VALENTINE’s Todd Farmer, is about a man (Nicolas Cage) who sets out on a bloody quest to rescue his infant granddaughter from a cult that has already killed his daughter. The cast also includes David Morse, Billy Burke, William Fichtner, Charlotte Ross and ZOMBIELAND’s Amber Heard; filming begins next month in Shreveport, LA for release February 11, 2011 by Summit Entertainment.
