Fango got a couple of comments from New York-based indie producer Michael Hein on his gorefest DEVIL’S GROVE, with news of a new date for the DVD we first gave you the details of here.

The disc, now set to street August 3, is being released by Elite Entertainment in partnership with Hein’s New York City Horror Film Festival, through Hannover House. Directed by R. Zoe Judd and Hein from a script by Rick Amburgey and Judd, the movie is set at the Denville Grove Amusement Park, where a group of high-school students shooting a documentary about a gruesome multiple murder at the site in 1999 find history bloodily repeating itself. “It’s a torture film in the mold of HOSTEL or SAW—without the gadgets,” Hein tells Fango. “The movie is very bloody and brutal, and we’re sure the hardcore indie horror fans will enjoy it.

“We shot DEVIL’S GROVE in Ohio with a local cast and crew,” he continues. “It was my first time working out there, and while they were not as seasoned as New York City actors and crews, we overcame a lot of obstacles during production that brought us all together like a family.” OFFSPRING’s Anthony Pepe provided the makeup FX, with Kimberly Magness, Susie Silva, Rachel Stewart, Andrew Koslow, Brooke Devenney, Bill Childers, Chris Cochran and Shannon O’Keefe starring.
