If you’ve read either my editorial in FANGORIA #313, or my review of the coffin box-set in #314, you’ll have an inkling of my deep emotional and intellectual affinity with Dan Curtis’ DARK SHADOWS and the two films his revolutionary soap opera spawned. I’m also more than a little fond of the world etched by professional eccentric Tim Burton, that incredible body of work that veers madly between out of control cartoon (he was an animator first and foremost, after all) and grandiose gothic horror tropes. In between those two extremes sits the Burton mystique and love it or hate it, it’s his mystique.

THIRST OF NIGHT is the latest strategy MMO from game developer and publisher Kabam. It’s their first to feature vampires as the protagonist race, and the new look definitely gives the title a more overt horror atmosphere than Kabam is used to.

FABLE HEROES is the latest addictive adventure from Lionhead Studios, developer of the highly acclaimed FABLE franchise. HEROES isn't your typical FABLE game, however. The new Xbox LIVE Arcade exclusive that released on May 2, 2012 features a whole new style modeled after your favorite hack-and-slash titles like fellow XBLA exclusive, CASTLE CRASHERS.

Well, May is here and the warm weather is upon us in most of America. It also means that we have a new FANGORIA'S DREADTIME STORIES episode for you to stream for FREE or purchase via download, commercial free with extended scenes for only $1.99. This month's episode is titled "The Dark Enforcer" and your host into the macabre, as always, is Malcolm McDowell. The story is by one of my favorite writers, Barry Richert, and tells the tale of timid comic store owner Dave Chersky who is sick and tired of being bulled.
