Horror Society is bringing their second helping of indie horror to Chicago this weekend with B-MOVIE MADNESS at the historic Portage Theater. While their first event (held last October) focused on the brutal and extreme side of horror, this time they're focusing on independent B-Movies and Horror Comedies.
The festivities get started this Saturday, January 17th, at 5pm with films running until midnight, highlighted by IT'S MY PARTY AND I'LL DIE IF I WANT TO, featuring a "choose your own adventure" version of the film, in which audience members will be invited to choose the destiny of the characters - not just for the ending, but the entire film!
The Lineup:
BETTER OFF UNDEADMarcus, Chris and Evan find themselves stuck in any normal day, when without warning, zombies begin to infest the city. Not knowing exactly what to do, the three attempt to seek shelter at Marcus’ house, but first they have to get there. Facing the undead, Marcus, Chris and Evan try to survive the zombies and each other.
Written and directed by John Pata, and starring Drew Schuldt, Dale DeVries and Jordan Brown, BETTER OFF UNDEAD was filmed in Oshkosh, WI and features music by The Lemurs, Lead Me Not, Johnny and the Phux, and The Suicide Machines.

THE DRILLER KILLERAn artist slowly loses his mind as he and his two female friends scrape to pay the bills. The punk band downstairs increasingly agitates him, his art dealer is demanding that he complete his big canvas painting as promised, and he gets into fights with his girlfriends. When the dealer laughs at his canvas he snaps, and begins taking it out on the people responsible for his pain and random transients in the manner suggested by the title.
THE STALKING HANDWhen a young man get fresh with his date her father, a preacher, goes insane and severs the young man’s hand with a chainsaw. The sever limb, understandably bitter about the whole affair, spend eternity stalking and killing every living human it encounters.
IT'S MY PARTY AND I'LL DIE IF I WANT TOSeventy years ago, Jacob Burkitt murdered and dismembered his entire family and cast a dark shadow over the small town of Monessen, Pennsylvania. Now Sara’s friends have decided to make her 18th birthday a night to remember by throwing her a surprise party in the reputedly haunted Burkitt Manor. As her friends set up the party, the evil within the house awakens and begins killing off her friends one by one. Does Sara have what it takes to save her friends from almost certain death or will she too become victim to the horrors of Burkitt Manor?
