Re: TRINITY OF TERRORS - Las Vegas, October 2009

The scrolling thing changes at random Wink

Lance is "out", he got a gig and we just found out about it last night.

Warrington was a fresh add.

Reject - you're on the mark: Erin was off the list for about two days when it appeared a filming conflict was going to happen, but then the problem was resolved and we put her back up.

Only other cancellation thus far (there's always a few) is our friend and Fango colleague Mark Kidwell (BUMP).

Everyone else is ready to rock.

Much of the crew is heading out today, and I'll be hitting the ground tomorrow morning.

He's still showing up on the scrolling guest pics at the top of the page and still listed as taking part in the screening. I've noticed a few other times guests would disappear from the list when they added someone new, then return a couple of days later. I know Erin Cummings was off the list for a couple of days.

I'm getting ready to head out the door, should be in Vegas by 2pm  Grin  See everyone there!!!

see you there man...were leaving tomorrow...i got a dvd signing to go to with fred dekker for night of the creeps !

Most of the Infested crew is already out there, the rest of us are heading out tomorrow.

I wanted to go to Lazer Blazer last night, but we were too busy trying to pack and finalize everything, so we sadly didnt make it.  I'm jealous.

Yes, Charles just called off.

Day one was outta site!!! Arrived A little late, but it was great seeing Romero & Savini again,Dee Wallace  acted genuinely thrilled to meet me (give that woman an Oscar!) And Ted V. Mikels  and  me are practically buddies!
Especially enjoyed chatting with David Sherbrook and Ted Payson, a couple of enterprising young filmmakers distributing their own work on DVD.

Hell yeah Uncle Bob, we had a blast, thanks for stopping by the booth and chatting, always glad to meet new people and drink our faces off with Fangoria friends.  Yesterday seemed a little slow, but it started late and was the first day, today is getting a lot crazier though, people are starting to make their way through.  Saw James and chatted with him a bit, still haven't seen Scott though.  Met Suspiriafandan yesterday, and of course a few of our old buddies from past shows like Jay.

Re: TRINITY OF TERRORS - Las Vegas, October 2009

Just returned from the Trinity of Terrors, and I have to say that despite the somewhat modest attendance, it was nothing but thrill after thrill.  My first con was the WoH in LA earlier this year, and even though I only bought a single day pass this time I got to see and do everything I wanted...almost.  More about that in a minute.  It was my 2nd time meeting Bruce Campbell and Caroline Williams.  This time I met my idols - the legendary George Romero and Tom Savini.  Neither one disappointed.  I met Ken Foree, the quirky and fun storyteller Michael Berryman, "The Man" Tom Atkins, the gorgeous Adrienne Barbeau, Courtney Gains, John Franklin, Malcolm McDowell and had great conversations with both Charles Cyphers and David Naughton.  I got to meet the unannounced Meg Foster (her 1st con!) and Dee Wallace, two of the sweetest ladies I've had the pleasure of talking to.  Meg Foster made me feel like a long lost friend.  And we bumped into Alan Howarth, who was helping promote a new film called Basement Jack.  I got to participate in Q&A's with Bruce Campbell, George Romero and genre icon Roger Corman.  And I should note that when Roger Corman appeared in the Fangoria booth to sign autographs he refused to accept any money, simply stating that he was signing things "on a friendly basis."  Pure class.

I enjoyed interacting with my fellow horror devotees - friendly conversations sprung up throughout the day with all kinds of like-minded strangers.  I enjoyed chatting with Tony Timpone, who was thankful for some of the interesting questions asked at the Q&A's.  And to top it all off, I enjoyed the con with my best buddy who I've known for some 25 years now, and with whom I've grown up on a steady diet of shocking, thrilling, schlocky, high brow, low budget, gory, classic, foreign and independent genre cinema.

Thanks to all the folks who worked so hard behind the scenes to make my experience what it was.  The only real downer was that the Survival Of The Dead screening - which along with meeting George Romero was one of my reasons for making the trip to Las Vegas from Boise in the first place - was a bust.  I'm not sure why nobody was able to change the projector bulb to rectify the problem.  I also remember Scott saying a few weeks ago that he had secured two prints of the film - why couldn't the second print be run in a different theater auditorium?  It was a major disappointment to cap off what was otherwise an amazing day.

Cheers!

Re: TRINITY OF TERRORS - Las Vegas, October 2009

So can anyone tell me how Survival Of The Dead was??
My g/f and I, along with a friend were some of the unlucky ones who were in the theater last night.
Still don't understand why this could not have been moved to another theater. Had a great experience Saturday, I think much more than WOH in LA earlier this year, but last night's debacle was not the icing on the cake.

To be honest it was kinda crappy sitting in the movie theatre from 11:50-12:45 with no movie i still had fun as i was the drunk one by the projector yelling out stuff such as "Lets just act it out" and other such things i do not remember...but  i watched it yesterday at 4pm before we left and it felt just like another land of the dead almost...the movie did remind me alot of Resident Evil 4(the game) as it was more with countryside folk fighting on one side you have a guy that wants to keep and preserve the dead and still make them do normal activities and is trying to feed them animals and get them off of human flesh. The other side is obviously against it and has conflicts. All in all it was still a great zombie film alot of CGI though wich dissapoints me and you have to take it lightly as there is a few "comedic" parts...But nonetheless it was good. The last shot of the film is worth the whole movie. So i would say to still try and see if there is any screenings of it going on in your town.

Re: TRINITY OF TERRORS - Las Vegas, October 2009

Hey fiends, thanks for all the groovy comments.  My brain is still a little offline, but wanted jump on and thank you all for coming out and celebrating with us.

As to SURVIVAL, we were supposed to get two prints, but the producers couldn't supply at the last minute.  I apologize to all for the theaters problem, but they did the best they could.  It's really a tricky business moving a print, so their solution to give me a third theater on Sunday was most appreciated.

Back later....

Re: TRINITY OF TERRORS - Las Vegas, October 2009

Thanks for the replies for Survival. I was really looking forward to seeing it, but the difficulties did not ruin my day.
I still had a great time! I hope TOT comes back to Vegas next year! Any news on how the weekend went? Was it a success/failure, disappointments? Loved the Q&A's as I was in the first row for Bruce and George!
