RAISING HELL
Having been bombarded with hype-filled reviews, I went into THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL with high expectations. Unfortunately, I came away from the film feeling as disappointed as I felt after watching Oren Peli's over-hyped PARANORMAL ACTIVITY (which may have worked as a short film that took place over three nights, but was simply excruciatingly at feature length).

Just when it seemed that usage of the term “torture porn” was behind us, it’s once again raised its ugly head - from reviews of THE HILLS RUN RED and Lars von Trier's ANTICHRIST to blog posts about how PARANORMAL ACTIVITY earned more than SAW VI this past weekend. RAISING HELL
As the dust settles after the release of what looks to be the most contentious remake of the year, it seems like a good time to ask, "What's wrong with the new FRIDAY THE 13TH?"
